Caution. While elephant apples are eaten by many wild animals, their safety for dogs is not well studied. The fruit contains anthocyanins and polyphenols, which may be harmful in large quantities. Until more is known, it is best to avoid giving elephant apples to dogs or offer only very small amounts occasionally.
