Do not give mamey sapote to dogs. There have been fatalities reported caused by dogs consuming the extract made from the fruit's flesh. The fruit's seeds and their extracts are also toxic to dogs. The leaves and plants of mamey sapote are skin irritants and potentially poisonous to dogs too.
