Can dogs eat chives? No, it is a big no-no to feed chives to dogs. A compound called n-propyl disulfide, which the herb naturally produces, causes the red blood cells of canines to burst. Without prompt vet treatment, this can progress to life-threatening haemolytic anaemia.
