Calophyllum oil, also known as Tamanu oil, should not be ingested by dogs. But when properly diluted, Calophyllum oil can be used topically to remedy different skin problems in dogs, including minor burns and rashes.

- Calophyllum is one of the best essential oils for healing wounds, skin cracks and rashes, minor burns, and other skin conditions.
- While Calophyllum or tamanu oil is not safe for ingestion, dogs with skin irritations or wounds can greatly benefit from it as a topical remedy.
Risks
- Calophyllum oil is toxic when taken internally by a dog, the exact toxicity level for dogs is unknown.
Servings
- Topically, Calophyllum essential oil should make up 25 to 50% of carrier oil blends. It can be diluted with a dog-friendly carrier oil such as olive oil or jojoba oil.
- Apply a small amount of the diluted Calophyllum oil to the affected area.
