- Beach spider lilies contain toxic alkaloids such as lycorine and tazettine in their leaves, flowers, and stalks. However, their most poisonous parts are the bulbs.
- Ingestion of beach spider lilies can cause abdominal pains, muscle spasms, and vomiting. In worst cases, the plant can induce seizures and paralysis.
