Risks
- The eucalyptus comes with toxic agents such as eucalyptus oil, eucalyptol, and cyanogenic glycoside. These compounds are found in the bark and leaves of the plant, making them poisonous to dogs.
- Eating the eucalyptus can upset the stomach of dogs and cause diarrhea, vomiting, and lack of appetite. Neural problems like depression, seizures, and confusion may also occur if too much of the plant is consumed.
- Coming into contact with the eucalyptus oil can irritate the skin of canines.
