Risks
- The pelargonium variety, also known as scented geranium, of the geranium species is toxic to dogs. It produces the poisonous compounds geraniol and linalool, which give them fragrance.
- Ingesting a scented geranium can cause stomach upset, heart problems, and neurological issues in dogs. Vomiting, slow heart rate, depression, and coma are some of the known symptoms of scented geranium poisoning.
