Risks
- All parts of the hydrangea, including the leaves, buds, stems, and flowers, produce cyanogenic glycosides, which can cause poisoning in dogs. However, toxicity will only manifest if this substance is ingested in large amounts.
- Some of the common symptoms of hydrangea poisoning in canines are lack of energy, vomiting, and diarrhea. Other signs such as breathing difficulties, heartbeat abnormalities, and seizures may occur during severe toxicity.
- All species of hydrangea plants are considered poisonous to dogs.
