- The larkspur contains diterpene alkaloids that can affect the nerve function of dogs potentially causing paralysis in dogs. There are more than 300 varieties of larkspur and all of them are toxic to dogs.
- Canines that ingested the plant may show a variety of symptoms from constipation, diarrhea, and hypersalivation to seizures, cardiac failure, and tremors.
