Risks
- The leaves and stems of maiden pink contain toxic triterpenoid saponins, which can cause gastric distress when ingested. It can result in vomiting, diarrhea, and a bloated stomach.
- Anemia, inappetence, restlessness, weakness, and fainting are some of the common clinical signs of maiden pink poisoning. In rare cases, a coma may occur.
- Exposure to this plant may cause skin irritation and itchiness in dogs.
