Risks
- The bark, sap, leaves, and fruit of the mezereon contain the toxins diterpenoid and daphnin. Ingestion of the plant can result in vomiting, nausea, and bloody diarrhea in dogs.
- Exposure to the mezereon leaves can cause skin irritation and blisters in dogs.
