- Despite its name, the rattlesnake plant is actually safe for dogs. The plant can be kept in the home or garden. It doesn't release any toxic substances so there's not risk of adverse reactions if your dog happens to eat the leaves. Just make sure your dog doesn't consume large amounts of the plant.
