- Although Russian sage is viewed as a nontoxic plant to dogs, it does carry small concentrations of the poisonous agent called thujone. If ingested in excess, it can potentially induce poisoning in dogs.
- Eating too much Russian sage can lead dogs to develop liver damage and neural issues like convulsions.
