Caution. While wild birds eat jostaberries, their safety for dogs is unclear. These berries are rich in antioxidants and have antifungal and antibacterial properties. However, the seeds and unripe fruit contain trace amounts of hydrogen cyanide, which can be toxic to dogs if eaten in large quantities.
