- Angel wing begonia contains soluble calcium oxalate, which can cause itchiness and a burning sensation in the mouth when ingested by dogs.
- The leaves and stem of the plant are mildly toxic to dogs, while the roots are the most poisonous parts. Ingesting inordinate quantities of angel wing begonia can lead dogs to suffer from vomiting and digestive upset.
