- Barbados lily is widely known to be toxic to humans and pets. Its toxic principle is alkaloid lycorine, which can cause vomiting, salvation, and diarrhea in dogs. Large consumption of Barbados lily, especially its bulb, could lead to tremors and cardiac arrhythmia in canines.
