- All parts of the black locust, including its foliage, contain toxalbumins particularly robin, phasin, and robitin. The highest concentration of toxins can be found in the seeds and bark of the plant.
- Consuming any part of the black locust may induce inappetence, vomiting, diarrhea, and breathing difficulties in dogs. Other telltale signs to watch out for are weakness, dilated pupils, and cold limbs.
