Risks
- The Kentucky coffee tree produces the toxin alkaloid cytisine which can cause stomach issues in dogs. The toxin is found in the leaves, seeds, and fruit pulp.
- Consuming the plant can lead to nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and irregular pulse. In the worst cases, a coma may take place.
