- The sap found in all parts of the cape honeysuckle contains saponins and cyanogenic glycosides. These are toxins that can cause digestive issues such as vomiting and diarrhea in dogs.
- In some cases, fever, abnormal heart rate, and breathing difficulties may also occur after ingesting the cape honeysuckle.
