Risks
- The clivia produces a mix of toxins such as lycorine, clivacetine, and clividine. All parts of this plant are deemed poisonous to dogs, but the most toxic of them all are the berries and bulbs.
- Consuming clivia can induce bouts of vomiting, bloody diarrhea, dizziness, and stomach cramps. In large amounts, it may potentially cause fast heart rate, convulsions, paralysis, and seizures in dogs.
