Risks
- English yew is a shrub or small tree native to Eurasia. Like other yew species, all parts of the English yew are poisonous to dogs because they contain highly toxic alkaloids.
- All parts of the plant, except for the flesh on the berries, contain taxines that can cause tremors, difficulty breathing, vomiting, and seizures.
- Eating parts of the English yew in large amounts can lead to sudden death from acute heart failure.
