Risks
- The sharp insoluble calcium oxalates produced by heart leaf philodendron are skin and mouth irritants. It can cause swelling and inflammation if ingested by dogs.
- Dogs that have eaten this plant may show signs of hypersalivation, breathing difficulties, and vomiting. Severe side effects of heart leaf philodendron on dogs are coma, kidney failure, and convulsions.
