-The pencil cactus’ white milky sap has toxins that can cause gastrointestinal distress when consumed by dogs. It can induce abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
- Coming into contact with the plant’s sap can cause painful blisters and rashes. If it gets in the eyes, temporary loss of vision may occur in dogs.
