- All parts of the physic nut, especially its seeds, are poisonous to dogs. When ingested, it can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration.
- This plant has a skin-irritating sap that can induce contact dermatitis in dogs. If it comes into contact with the eyes, dogs may suffer from eye inflammation.
