Risks
- Some parts of the pokeweed including its roots, leaves, and seeds contain poisonous compounds. Consuming any of them can cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs.
- The toxic substances found in the pokeweed plant can be absorbed through abrasions or wounds in the skin, causing blood aberrations.
- The sap of the pokeweed can cause skin irritation in dogs with sensitive skin.
