- Wood anemone present toxicity to dogs due to producing the poisonous compound called protoanemonin.
- If eaten in large amounts, wood anemone can cause vomiting and diarrhea in canines.
- Exposure to the plant’s fresh sap can cause skin inflammation and blistering. Ingestion may result in mouth irritation.
- All parts of the wood anemone are poisonous to dogs including its fruits, bark, flowers, and leaves.
