- Inside the leaves of aloe vera is a yellowish latex. It contains toxic compounds for dogs such as saponins and glycosides. If consumed in large amounts, it can result in tremors.
- The latex of aloe vera also contains aloin, which is a substance that can irritate the stomach of dogs when ingested. It can trigger diarrhea, which can lead to excessive dehydration if left unchecked.
