- Some parts of the Japanese anemone, including its bark, seeds, and leaves, produce the toxin protoanemonin. Dogs may experience hemorrhagic gastritis, shock, and convulsions if they ingest the plant.
- Coming into contact with the Japanese anemone’s sap can result in painful blisters and skin irritation in dogs.
