- Kaffir lily carries harmful compounds such as alkaloids and lycorine, which can induce mild to moderate toxicity in dogs.
- All parts of the plant are poisonous, but its bulb and fruits are particularly even more dangerous. They contain the highest concentrations of alkaloids and lycorine.
- Some symptoms caused by kaffir lily poisoning are vomiting, hypersalivation, digestive upset, and diarrhea. In severe cases, cardiac arrhythmias, tremors, and low blood pressure may occur.
