- The red spider lily contains lycorine, which can cause mild toxicity in dogs if ingested. It has been long used in Japan to deter rats and other wild animals from wrecking rice paddies.
- If a canine eats a red spider lily, he may experience vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, and stomach cramps.
