- Mediterranean spurge contains a sap with an unidentified compound that can cause irritation in the skin, eyes, and mouth of dogs.
 - Skin contact with the sap may lead to inflammation and painful blistering in dogs.
 - If the sap gets into a dog’s eyes, it can cause ocular irritation, blurry vision, and temporary blindness.
 - Ingesting Mediterranean spurge can result in hypersalivation, a swollen mouth, swallowing difficulties, and gastrointestinal issues like vomiting and diarrhea.
