- The leaves and stems of golden pothos contain skin-irritating insoluble calcium oxalates. Chewing on them can cause inflammation in the mouth and throat.
- When digested by dogs, the golden pothos can trigger gastrointestinal upset in the form of vomiting and diarrhea.
- Excessive ingestion of golden pothos can induce severe adverse reactions such as breathing difficulties, seizures, and fainting.
